Florentine S. Woods's parents were married twelve years and divorced before she reached middle school. Both parents remarried several times.  Her mom twice and her dad four times. 

 

Florentine married at age twenty. Her husband was the father of three children from previous relationships. Together they had two children. She later received custody of her four-year-old nephew who was the son of her adopted sister.

Divorced after thirty-three years of marriage with at least forty-six years of experience in blended families, Florentine lived through and learned many valuable life lessons.

 

However, this former thirty-year owner/operator of a Beauty Salon, prompted by God, pursued more education. She graduated from LeMoyne-Owen College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology (2008) and Memphis Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree (2013).

 

In January 2017 with a lot of prayer and fear and wrestling with God, she launched this ministry, Families In The Mix.

 

As a Life and Blended Family coach, she offers programs, conferences, seminars, webinars, and workshops to assist families in a new life void of chaos but full of clarity. She assists individuals, couples, and their children in getting to know the self and harmoniously blending their families and extended families through Communication, Investigation, and Divine Intentionality.  Her focus groups include Parents, Step-parents, Grandparents, Stepchildren, Adopted children, Foster parents, those dating, engaged, or newly married with children.
